Pete Pallet Steps Off the Page and Into Children’s Wardrobes as Author David Frosdick Expands Beloved Book Character Into Lifestyle Brand

Leicestershire author adds casual clothing line to Pete Pallet series to support children through life’s first milestones.

Leicestershire, UK – June 2025 – Children’s book author David Frosdick has announced an exciting expansion to his popular Pete Pallet brand, launching a range of casual clothing inspired by the character that has helped young readers build confidence and ease anxiety about starting school.

Pete Pallet, the wooden pallet with a heart of gold, first captured imaginations in Frosdick’s debut picture book Pete Pallet’s New School, a story designed to reassure pre-school children as they take their first steps into the classroom. The character’s second adventure, Pete Pallet’s Healthy Fruits & Vegetables, continues the mission of encouraging children to embrace new experiences with curiosity and courage.

Now, Pete Pallet fans can bring their favourite character into everyday life through a growing range of casual clothing, starting with specially designed “reading socks” for parents, caps, t-shirts, and hoodies. The line aims to turn storytime into an even warmer, shared ritual while subtly promoting Pete Pallet’s message of positivity, resilience, and self-belief.

A character born from everyday life

The idea for Pete Pallet came to Frosdick during his time working in a warehouse when he spotted a wooden pallet stamped “Made in Vietnam” and thought, “If only that could talk.” Recalling the phrase used by older generations to describe objects that could share stories of their journeys, Frosdick envisioned a character who would guide children through the world’s early challenges with wisdom and kindness.

“Pete Pallet was created to be a reassuring friend to children,” says Frosdick. “Starting school can be overwhelming, and I wanted to give kids something approachable that they could connect with – someone who’s been there too.”

From storybook hero to brand icon

The Pete Pallet brand is now a registered trademark and continues to expand its impact, with videos available on YouTube bringing the stories to life in an accessible digital format. Frosdick’s collaboration with illustrator Mark Wilson has been praised for its vibrant, engaging artwork that supports children’s understanding of the themes.

An independent editorial review described Pete Pallet’s New School as a “delightful educational picture book… bright, beautiful illustrations will fill your child’s mind with positive, memorable images and reassuring words,” awarding the book five stars.

Looking ahead

The clothing launch marks the beginning of Pete Pallet’s evolution from children’s book character into a broader lifestyle brand that parents, grandparents, and young readers can enjoy together. Further apparel items are planned, aiming to integrate Pete Pallet’s uplifting presence into children’s daily routines.

Frosdick also sees opportunity for corporate buyers and investors to support the growth of Pete Pallet as a brand dedicated to early childhood confidence and wellbeing. Retailers and distributors interested in stocking the books and clothing are encouraged to get in touch.

Pete Pallet books are available through Book Marketing Global Network and casual clothing is now launching at Pete Pallet Store.
