Police officers were called to Bulrush Avenue on Sunday just before 8p after there were reports of a disturbance in the area.

Upon arrival to the scene, police officers reportedly found a man with serious head injuries. Officers performed CPR until paramedics arrived.

Despite best efforts from paramedics and police officers, the man who was in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene.

A few hours later, a 47 year old man was arrested at the crime scene. Another, age 22, was arrested on nearby Paradise Road just a few hours later.

Both men have been arrested on suspicion of murdering the 30-year-old man on Bulrush Avenue and were taken to Kings Lynn Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Meanwhile, a cordon has been set up around the property where officers are carrying out the initial enquiries into the murder and also to establish the conditions in which the incident happened.

Kate Thacker, Detective Chief Superintendent, told the Eastern Daily Express –

“A number of police resources were sent to the scene, and the two suspects in custody will be questioned in due course.

“A murder investigation has been launched and detectives will be working to establish the full circumstances and what led to the man’s death. We can confirm those involved are known to one-another.

“We would like to hear from anyone who believes they may have information which could assist our enquiries.”

A second murder investigation was launched last night.

A young woman in the West Norfolk Village of West Winch has been hit by a car.

Police were called to Leete Way in West Winch situated on the outskirts of King’s Lynn around 7:30 last night following more reported disturbances.

Officers were dispatched to the scene and Queen Elizabeth hospital, where the woman in her late teens had been taken.

Not long after the young woman was pronounced dead.

A man in his 40s has since been arrested at the hospital on suspicion of murder and causing death by dangerous driving.

He has been taken to and is currently being questioned at King’s Lynn Investigation Centre.

Leete Way has been cordoned off while the crash scene investigation is underway.

Det Chief Supt Kate Thacker also informed the EDP that –

“We’re in the early stages of our investigation however we can confirm those involved are known to one another.

“Leete Way has been closed in both direction while initial scene enquiries are carried out and officers will be working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.”

Police have stressed the West Winch incident is completely unrelated to the second murder inquiry launched in Downham Market.

Det Ch Supt Thacker added –

“Tragically, this is the second murder investigation launched in Norfolk following incidents last night. I can confirm these are separate incidents and not connected in any way.

“We understand such news is shocking and may cause concern among local communities. We have a number of resources committed to both incidents which we will investigate thoroughly.”
