A tragic incident occurred last month as a result of a dog attack, with Merseyside Police confirming the unfortunate passing of a woman.

On August 18th, Marie Stevens suffered severe bites on her legs and arms in a harrowing incident involving two rottweilers in Netherton, Merseyside. Tragically, the 40-year-old woman passed away on September 3rd, after collapsing at her residence, according to the police.

The North West Ambulance Service alerted officers to her Holden Road residence in Brighton-le-Sands shortly after 9:10 am. A subsequent post-mortem examination identified the primary cause of her death as a pulmonary embolism.

Merseyside Police revealed that the dog attack from last month was reported on Park Lane West in Netherton. At the scene, officers administered initial aid to Ms. Stevens until the ambulance arrived. She received medical treatment in the hospital and was later discharged.

Following the incident, a 41-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a dangerously out-of-control dog that caused injury. Both individuals have been released on bail with specified conditions.
