Social media users left in stitches after spotting questionable artwork in maternity ward

by Glasgow Report

A QUESTIONABLE piece of artwork has left social media users in stitches after they noticed the uncanny resemblance to a penis.

The artwork which is a permanent feature on the wall of the maternity ward at Burnley General Hospital was questioned after several people clocked the phallic design.

The image was shared online last week leaving many questioning whether the design wasn’t as obvious to those who were looking at it in person.

The art which combines a series of butterflies together flying off a pair of dandelions bares an incredible resemblance to that of a phallus – with the irony not lost online that the artwork is in a maternity ward.

The decorations have been put up in a questionable way.

Whilst the wall art was intended to bring peace and tranquility, it has been unfortunately shaped and to the keen eye instead resembles the male appendage.

The unfortunate image of the inappropriate artwork sparked debate online arguing about whether the resemblance was intentional or not.

Part of the phallic imagery is hidden by medical equipment but more than an eyeful remains on show for expectant mothers-to-be.

The image was shared to social media last week with the caption: “Genuine artwork on the baby ward at Burnley General. Whoever snuck that up there deserves a pint.”

The post has received 31,000 likes and tens of comments from users finding the unfortunate wall art hilarious.

One said: “Would like to have seen some extra butterflies emerging from the tip.”

Another added: “A pint? Or a jail sentence?”

A third said: “Beginning to regret getting my dandelions out on the Internet isn’t it.”

Another commented: “Well I mean that kind of is how they landed there in the first place so fair enough.”

Burnley General Hospital contacted for comment.
