TV fitness coach Joe Wicks hosts Monday morning 5k run in Edinburgh

by Glasgow Report
in Health

TV FITNESS coach Joe Wicks hosted an impromptu 5km in Edinburgh’s city centre this morning, offering eager joggers the chance to run alongside him.

Wicks, who also goes by The Body Coach, is a television and social media personality who has authored multiple books on healthy eating and workout guides as part of his “mission to make the world fitter, healthier and happier”.

The trainer urged Edinburgh runners to join him on a morning jog through the city centre, starting at Charlotte Square.

He also recently announced plans to run the London Marathon this year on behalf of his charity, The Body Coach Foundation, which aims to help people improve their mental and physical health.

Joe Wicks posted to social media yesterday, saying “Edinburgh. Come and join me for a 5km run tomorrow morning (Monday 10th Feb).

“Meet at 6:30am at Charlotte Square. Please share with your friends in Edinburgh”

He also shared a screenshot of a map showing Charlotte Square off Edinburgh’s Princes Street.

The post received over 300 comments and 700 likes, with many eager to join.

One user said: “Genuinely considering coming from Aberdeen for this”

Another replied: “Looking forward to it, for a wee selfie with The Body Coach”

A third commented: “How fantastic. What a great way to start the week.”

Wicks is in Edinburgh as part of a UK workplace tour, inviting companies to have him visit and give advice on how to keep fit.

He begins in Edinburgh today and will be driving down the country over five days until reaching London.

After having around 10,000 companies apply, 10 were chosen to receive motivational talks from Wicks, similar to those he gives in schools around the country.
