New “viral” brunch and takeaway spot opens in Morningside

by Glasgow Report
in Real Estate

A NEW restaurant serving all-day brunch and takeaway has opened in the residential area of Morningside in Edinburgh.

The restaurant has taken over the unit at 223 Morningside Road from SisCo hair salon, which used to operate two units next to each other, but has now scaled down its operation.

The restaurant, named Fourdish, is described as a “viral brunch” spot and will serve all day breakfasts, cakes, sushi, poke bowls, special teas made from fruit, and coffee.

Fourdish said that the restaurant was started with a “simple but powerful” idea to offer healthy food options that are “delicious and “beautifully presented”.

The shop is opposite the M&S Simply Food shop in Morningside and opened its doors over the weekend.

Fourdish says that while there is a focus at the restaurant on healthy eating, it also made sure to make provisions for those with a sweet tooth.

It will offer a range of sweet treats, with pancake stacks, stuffed croissants, and freshly baked cakes on the menu.

Early pictures from the restaurant show a range of avocado dishes, poke bowls, cakes, and sushi on offer.

Speaking today, a spokesperson for Fourdish said: “We started our café with a simple but powerful idea — to offer healthy food options that are not only good for you but also delicious and beautifully presented.

“Our goal is to make nutritious eating enjoyable and accessible, with high-end presentation and reasonable pricing that everyone can appreciate.

“Our menu features a range of wholesome favourites like poke bowls, sushi, herbal teas, decaf coffee, granola bowls, and avocado toasts — all crafted to promote a balanced, healthy lifestyle without compromising on taste.

They added: “And because we believe there should be something for everyone, we also offer a range of treats for those with a sweet tooth.

“From our stacked pancakes and stuffed croissants to our freshly baked cakes, coffee each indulgence is crafted with the same care and quality as our healthy options — the perfect way to treat yourself while enjoying the full café experience.”

Fourdish is open from 8am until late.

It will face stiff competition in Morningside, however, with the area being known for its vibrant range of independent coffee shops and restaurants.
