Members of the public have visited a new Stirling primary school ahead of its official opening in September.
Corbiewood Primary, which will serve the South Stirling Gateway development, will have seven classrooms and is said to be “state-of-the-art”.
Patrick Robertson, headteacher of the new primary school, is excited for the new school to be opened: “Being appointed Head Teacher of Corbiewood Primary is a tremendous privilege.

“It was wonderful to meet families during our recent site visit to the new school building, and we are all looking forward to welcoming our first pupils and building a caring and exciting school community together.”
The school will cater to the 800 new homes being developed as part of the South Stirling Gateway development.
It will be constructed alongside external sports facilities and be linked to active travel routes to and from Bannockburn and surrounding areas.
The school will be the first new primary school built in Stirling since Newton Primary School in Dunblane in 1996.
Stirling Council Social Work and Education Convener, Cllr Bob Buchanan has high hopes for the establishment: “This fantastic new school building will form an integral part of a growing community in Stirling for years to come and it’s exciting that it’s now nearing completion.
“Lifetimes worth of memories for young children will be made at Corbiewood Primary School and families should be beaming with pride that their children will be among the first to step through its doors.”

The school is being built under the SCAPE Scotland framework by the contractors, McLaughlin & Harvey.
The project manager for McLaughlin & Harvey, Callum Haining, was excited to show their progress ahead of its opening, “We are proud to be constructing the school which will serve the South Stirling Gateway community. It was fantastic to welcome teachers and families to see the progress being made ahead of the school opening later this year.”
