THE QHOTELS Collection have partnered with Golf Genius to launch a UK-first initiative to digitally improve golfers’ games in resorts.
Operation 36 targets beginners and seasoned golf players and is designed to make learning golf simpler, engaging and social.
The scheme, ran by Golf Genius, has created over 180,000 new golfers and is available worldwide at over 800 venues.
Golf, health club & spa director at The QHotels Collection Keith Pickard said: “We’re proud to be the first golf resort group in the UK to introduce Operation 36 across our collection.

“Growing participation and investing in the future of the game is incredibly important to us, and this partnership aligns perfectly with that ambition. Golf can sometimes feel intimidating for new players, but Operation 36 provides a more accessible, social and engaging introduction to the sport.”
He added: “This programme not only benefits new golfers but also strengthens the coaching pathways available across our resorts and supports our PGA professionals in developing players for the future.”
The Westerwood Hotel, Spa & Golf in Glasgow will be one of the 17 hotels in the UK which will feature Operation 36.
Golfers are encouraged to learn through a structured six-level pathway, starting from 25 yards out from the hole and progressing backwards. Six-time major winning champion golfer Rory McIlroy has previously backed the scheme, which is supported through an interactive mobile app.
Nick Stocking, Golf Genius general manager, said: “We’re delighted to partner with The QHotels Collection as the first operator to introduce Operation 36 across a UK-wide resort portfolio. Their commitment to growing the game and creating welcoming environments for new golfers makes them an ideal partner for the programme.
“Together, we’re looking forward to helping more people discover golf in a way that is fun, social and digitally enriched throughout.”
