Footy fan pranks clueless fellow supporters after pretending to be Aston Villa player and signing merch – leaving them none the wiser

by Glasgow Report
in Sports

A FOOTBALL fan has pulled a hilarious prank on some clueless fellow supporters who appeared to believe he was part of the Aston Villa squad.

The Villa fan was seen outside Villa Park on Wednesday following the London side’s shock 1-0 win over German opponents Bayern Munich.

Seemingly filmed either long before or long after the players exited the stadium, a handful of fans can be seen hoping to get a photo or autograph from a player or two.

Sensing the opportunity for mischief, the supporter strolled along the barrier, happily signing merchandise and chatting with oblivious fans, leaving them none the wiser to the fact he was no more than another fan.

Video filmed by one of the bloke’s mates shows him approaching the waiting fans after seemingly exiting the players’ lounge.

Confidently approaching the supporters – who seem to have no clue who the chap even is – he begins signing t-shirts and posters.

Dressed in a simple jacket and pair of jeans, the lad’s clobber is far from the tracksuits usually sported by footballers pre- and post-match, but this doesn’t seem to faze the bewildered fans.

The man’s friends, watching on and recording, find his antics hilarious and can be heard chuckling to themselves.

Still hamming it up, the fake player even engages in a few conversations with his adoring fans and poses for photos.

Finally wrapping his stunt up, the man bids farewell to the supporters and heads over to his pals with a grin on his face.

The unfortunate victims, however, were left to go home with worthless signatures and photos of a random bloke, thinking they had met a player from the squad.

The footage of the Villa fan’s hilarious prank was posted to social media yesterday with the caption: “Walk out the players’ lounge and my mate does this.”

It has since received over 11,000 likes and more than 180 comments from social media users left in stitches by the chap’s audacity.

One user wrote: “Absolutely superb. I hope they see this.”

Another replied: “Tourists that don’t know their own players.”

A third added: “I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed that.”

Another commented: “That’s brilliant – made me laugh & good on him for pulling it off.”

A fifth joked: “Always got time for the fans. Good lad.”
