Social Investment Scotland brings funding expertise to Edinburgh

by Glasgow Report
in Business

SOCIAL Investment Scotland (SIS) is set to bring its Funding Socials programme to Edinburgh, offering third sector leaders the opportunity to connect with fund managers, sector specialists and peers.

The event at Out of the Blue Arts & Education Trust in Leith on February 12 will help charity and social enterprise leaders from across the region explore new approaches to income generation and build networks.

The session will feature insights from Kieran Daly, SIS head of market building, alongside guest speaker Conor Cross, philanthropy manager at Foundation Scotland.

Representatives from the William Grant Foundation, Firstport, and Development Trusts Association Scotland will also be in attendance, offering valuable perspectives on funding opportunities and community-led development.

Kieran Daly said: “Accessing the right funding can be a significant challenge for organisations seeking to grow, particularly when opportunities feel hard to navigate.

“Events like this are vital because they bring the right people into the room to share practical advice, respond to questions, and signpost clear pathways to support.

“Edinburgh already has a thriving third sector, and this event aims to ensure local organisations have the tools, connections, and confidence needed to maximise their impact.”

Conor Cross said: “Bringing funders closer to organisations and the communities they serve is crucial if we want funding to be truly effective.

“Events like this create opportunities to share knowledge and insight, helping organisations better understand their options and what support is available.

“By opening up these conversations and building stronger relationships, funders can also listen, receive feedback, and better understand how we can adapt our support to meet the needs of the third sector.”
