A SCOTS footie team have left fans in stitches after their cheeky X-rated player contract renewal announcement.
Raith Rovers took to social media yesterday evening to announce that their 27-year-old defender Liam Dick had signed on for another year into the 2023/24 season.
However fans were left chuckling after the admin for the Rovers chose a rather tongue-in-cheek way to let supporters of the cinch Championship side know of the deal.
The club took to social media yesterday to share the news, writing: “Dick extension.
“We’re delighted to announce that Liam Dick has renewed his contract for another year, keeping him at the club until June 2024.
“Liam’s strong defending and versatility has been vital in his 80 appearances for the club, scoring four goals. #YouBelong”
The Kirkcaldy side’s post received more than 35,000 likes and was inundated with over 1,000 cheeky comments from fans and celebrities alike.
TV star Rylan said: “Fine with it.”
AwayDayBeers joked: “So many said this extension was pure phallusy.”
Cariad Hiraeth punned: “Some stiff competition for his signature.”
Sam Boylan quipped: “Any news on the length of this extension?”
Niall Bermin said: “Has he had an enhancement to his terms and conditions?”
The Kirkcaldy side finished seventh this season in the second tier but were unable to squeeze into the play-offs.
This isn’t the first time the club have hit the headlines, with Rovers facing severe criticism last year after announcing the signing of rapist David Goodwillie.
This revelation was met with enormous fan backlash, staff resignations and the team losing sponsorship from crime writer Val McDermid
The side released the player a month into this season, with the former Dundee United striker having never played.
